Getting to know Egypt is a journey through a time tunnel. You will be taken back to the cradle of humanity, to the embryos of an entire current socioeconomic, political, and religious system.
The legacies of this ancient and great civilization are scattered throughout the country, more precisely, on the banks of the Nile River.
The ideal is to start the journey through Egypt´s current capital Cairo, which is located a few kilometers from the first capital of the country, Memphis, founded in approximately 3150 BC in the beginning of this civilization.
From the city of Cairo, you are able to reach Luxor by plane, bus or train.
The cruise starts either from Luxor or Aswan. There are several choices of cruises that cover different needs and interests.
Luxor is an open-air museum, and a minimum of two days is required for a basic tour.
In Aswan, I recommend a trip to the temples of Abu Simbel which are considered one of the highlights of sightseeing in Egypt.
For those who have time, an interesting visit is to the coastal cities of the Red Sea, such as Sharm el-Sheikh or Hurghada. The Red Sea is of unique beauty, especially for those who enjoy scuba diving.
Alexandria is one of the most beautiful cities in Egypt. Bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, it was founded by Alexander the Great and was the scene of the end of this civilization after the Macedonians conquered the country. It is located 220 km from Cairo.
Traveling through Egypt is a dream, a calling, a quest or even a reencounter.
